Mindful Journey Academy is raising funds for a modular emergency shelter and indoor learning space to support student safety, weather preparedness, and year-round learning.
Every school needs a safe place. This modular building will provide a dedicated emergency shelter and indoor learning space for students attending school each day on our 18-acre farm and forest campus.
Every gift brings us closer to a safe learning space for our children.
Our students already learn here every day. This project is not about building a new school — it is about providing the safe shelter and indoor learning space they need.
Each morning, children complete academic studies including reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, geography, and the arts. Afternoons are filled with hands-on learning through gardening, animal care, cooking, handwork, nature studies, and outdoor exploration on our 18-acre farm and forest campus in Conway, South Carolina.
Our students attend school here throughout the day, every school day.
The modular classroom building provides an emergency shelter and indoor classroom — supporting student safety, weather preparedness, and year-round learning.
Rather than constructing a building from the ground up, we have identified a modular classroom building that can be delivered and installed quickly and affordably on our campus.
This building will provide:
Emergency protection during storms and severe weather
Indoor learning space when conditions are unsafe outdoors
Restrooms and essential student facilities
Space for cooking, handwork, science, and special programs
Support for the continued growth of our school
A lasting resource for future generations of children

Mindful Journey Academy is a full-time K–8 school where students engage in rigorous academics, practical arts, outdoor exploration, and meaningful hands-on learning.

Mindful Journey Academy is a Waldorf-inspired, nature-based private school serving children in grades K–8.
Located on an 18-acre farm and forest campus, students learn through a balance of academics, practical arts, environmental stewardship, animal care, creativity, and meaningful outdoor experiences. Our mission is to nurture capable, compassionate, and resilient young people who are deeply connected to themselves, their community, and the natural world.
Our students are currently creating a short documentary film about our school, our campus, and their vision for this building. Through their own voices, they will share why this project matters and how it will impact future generations of learners.
